该标准规定了在自来水等处理过的水或原水（包括生物在内）中微西丁的测定及定量的方法。所述的该方法是对MCYST-RR、MCYST-YR及MCYST-LR进行有效性认可的方法。另外，该标准也可以适用于Micro Sistine的一些结构变种[1]的测定，但由于市售标准品的不足及同时使用，不能成为明显的识别。水中MCYST-LR的允许值为1mg/L，由世界卫生组织（WHO）提议，这可以通过利用固相萃取（SPE）浓缩微晶来确认。

이 표준은 수돗물 같이 처리된 물이나 원수(생물을 포함한)에서의 마이크로시스틴의 측정 및 정량에 대한 방법을 규정한다. 기술된 이 방법은 MCYST－RR, MCYST－YR 및 MCYST－LR에 대하여 유효성이 인정된 방법이다. 또한 이 표준은 마이크로시스틴의 일부 구조적인 변종[1]의 측정에도 적용할 수 있으나, 시판 표준품의 부족 및 동시 용리로 인하여 명백한 식별이 될 수 없다.물에 함유된 MCYST－LR의 허용값은 1 mg/L로 세계보건기구(WHO)에 의하여 제안되었으며 이는 고상추출(SPE)을 이용한 마이크로시스틴의 농축에 의하여 확인할 수 있다.
