This powerpoint presentation begins by stating the need for water conservation training and
certification, and presents the Pacific Northwest Section (PNWS)-AWWA Water Conservation
Certification Administration program that aligns with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
WaterSense certification specifications, including:
a partnership with an education agency ie.
Community College;
experiential requirement;
proctored testing and test security protocol;
two-year update cycle for test questions; and,
CEU requirement for renewal. Certification training and workshop are presented, along with a partnership with Lane Community College, called the Water
Conservation Technician Program, that offers a distance learning opportunity.
