Household, Commercial, and Professional-Use Carts and Stands for Use with Audio/Video EquipmentUL 16781 Scope1.1 These requirements apply to household, commercial, and professional-use carts, stands, and shelves intended to provide a surface for structural support of audio/video equipment. Home entertainment centers not provided with a work surface such as a desktop or keyboard shelf and intended to support audio/video equipment are covered by this standard.1.1 revised effective January 31, 20031.2 These requirements do not apply to products covered by the Standard for Household and Commercial Furnishings,UL 962, such as products intended to provide a surface for structural support of information technology equipment.1.2 revised effective January 31, 20031.3 These requirements do not apply to carts and similar structures having a shelf that is more than 39.37 inches (1 m) above the floor and are intended for use in schools, institutions, hospitals, or like locations where children are able to move them.
