This paper discusses how water-efficient dual-flush toilet fixtures can achieve significant additional water
savings in North America, yielding from 20 to 30 percent more savings than conventional 1.6-
gpf/6.0-lpf fixtures. New dual-flush toilet fixtures from a variety of manufacturers are arriving in the North American
marketplace, competing with Caroma Industries Ltd. who entered the U.S. market in 1998. Topics discussed in this paper include: water savings; wash-down vs. siphonic bowls; and, a listing of new products in the marketplace is given. Includes table.
