Scope1.1This Standard applies to motor-operated liquid pump units for use in nonhazardous, indoor, outdoor (exposed), and submerged locations and designed to be used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.1.2This Standard applies toa) pumps for either permanent or cord-connection to the source of supplyb) cord- and plug-connected pumpsc) component-type pump units intended to be built into equipment covered by another Standard of theCanadian Electrical Code, Part II1.3This Standard does not apply to pumps for hazardous locations or pumps required to handle flammable liquids such as gasoline pumps.1.4Clauses 4 to 7 are general in nature and apply to all motor-operated liquid pump units.
