该标准规定，无论形状（平面或曲线型）或方向（包括以下方向在内，可以朝任何方向进行），在各种表面使用带有单元的粘合补丁提取可溶性污染物的方法。该标准中描述的方法适合现场使用，以便在涂装或类似操作前检测可溶性污染物。该标准不包括溶解后被消灭的污染物分析。适合现场使用的分析方法在KS M ISO 8502的其他部分（part）中进行了说明。

이 표준은 모양(평면이거나 곡선형)이나 방향에 상관없이(아래 방향을 포함하여 어느 방향으로든 가 능함) 다양한 표면에 셀을 가지고 있는 접착 패치를 사용하여 가용성 오염물을 추출하는 방법에 대 하여 규정하고 있다. 이 표준에 설명된 방법은 도장이나 비슷한 조작 전에 가용성 오염물을 측정하기 위하여 현장에서 사 용하기에 적합하다. 이 표준은 녹아서 소멸된 오염물 분석을 포함하지 않는다. 현장에서 사용하기 적합한 분석 방법은 KS M ISO 8502의 다른 부(part)에 설명되어 있다.
