This test method covers the determination of asphalt content of asphalt mixture and asphalt pavement samples by removing the asphalt cement in an ignition furnace. The means of sample heating may be the convection method or direct irradiation method.
Note 1:
Aggregate obtained by this test method may be used for sieve analysis. Particle size degradation may occur with some aggregates.
