BS ISO 17546:2016 specifies design and minimum verification requirements for lithium ion
rechargeable (including lithium ion polymer) batteries for space vehicles.Lithium ion secondary electrochemical systems use intercalation compounds (intercalated lithium
exists in an ionic or quasi-atomic form within the lattice of the electrode material) in the positive and in
the negative electrodes. The focus of this International Standard is on "battery assembly" and cell is described as "component
cells" to be harmonized with other industrial standards and regulations.
"Performance"," safety", and "logistics" are the main points of view to specify. This International Standard does not address "disposal" or "recycle"; however, some recommendations
regarding disposal are suggested.Cross References:ISO 24113IEC 61960NASA/TM-2009-2215751:NESC-RP-08-75/06-069-IJSC20793RCC 319-10AIAA S-122-2007MIL-STD-810NAVSEA S9310-AQ-SAF-10IEC 62133IEC 62281ECSS-E-ST-10-03CECSS-E-ST-10-02CECSS-Q-ST-40-02CECSS-Q-ST-30-11CECSS-Q-ST-70CISO 10795All current amendments available at time of purchase are included with the purchase of this document.
