This paper focusses on a real life example of a Quality Improvement Process in action. The City of Altamonte Springs became involved in a process called "The Quality Improvement Process", as it had been developed by the Florida Power and Light Corporation. There was and is a liberal amount of influence from the Japanese system of participatory management. Over the years, both Florida Power and Light and the City have found it necessary to adapt the process to suite the life styles of their own population. Following the text is an case study of a team as it presented its problem and describes how it developed its solution.
