This adoption with Canadian deviations of the Third Edition is an update to the Second Edition. The modifications include revision of the clause on marking to remove the symbol double triangle, the deletion of Annex B (normative) regarding the symbol double triangle and the insertion of Annex G (informative) regarding in-service care and periodic checking.This International Standard is applicable to insulated and insulating hand tools used for working live or close to live parts at nominal voltages up to 1 000 V a.c. and 1 500 V d.c.The products designed and manufactured according to this standard contribute to the safety of the users provided they are used by skilled persons, in accordance with safe methods of work and the instructions for use (where appropriate).
