SURFACE FINISHING OPERATIONS REPRESENT A COSTLY AND CRITICAL PORTION OF THE MANUFACTURING CYCLE. ULTRASONIC POLISHING, A NEW VARIANT OF ULTRASONIC MACHINING, HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY UTILIZED IN LIMITED APPLICATIONS AND SHOWS GREAT PROMISE AS A FLEXIBLE, CONTROLLABLE FINISHING PROCESS. HOWEVER, RESEARCH IS REQUIRED TO DEVELOP THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNOLOGY BASE OF THE PROCESS TO REALIZE ITS FULL POTENTIAL. THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF AN INVESTIGATION OF THE ULTRASONIC POLISHING PARAMETERS RELATED TO SURFACE INTEGRITY IMPROVEMENT FOR ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINED (EDM) WORKPIECE.
