View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.ALZ 316L is a Cr-Ni-Mo steel with a very low carbon content (0.030 max). Its general resistance to corrosion is similar to AISI Type 316 but, because of its low carbon content, it has superior resistance to the formation of harmful carbides that contribute to intergranular corrosion. Its molybdenum content gives it greater resistance to pitting and makes the alloy suitable for uses where corrosive conditions are severe. Type 316L is used widely in many industries such as chemical, food, paper, textile, nuclear, and oil.
