After years of operational adjustments, the city of Pana faced the reality that the city's water treatment facility needed additional clarification capacity and improved filtration in order to meet existing and emerging water quality standards. The existing laboratory, control room, chemical storage facility and high service pumps were, however, still highly functional. Filtracone met the city's operational needs and at the same time, minimized costs by reducing square footage and eliminating the need for construction of facilities with years of useful life. The resulting Filtracone treats the surface raw water in a chemically efficient clarification process that produces high-quality finished water.
