Air fresheners and deodorizers employing heating elements, electronic circuits, motor-operated fans (or a combination thereof), and mechanical filters are also covered by these requirements.1.3 These requirements are intended to evaluate these appliances with respect to the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, and explosiveness of atmosphere. The physiological effects of the operation of these appliances, beneficial or otherwise, are not covered by this Standard.
