The objective of this project was to research, develop and install appropriate measurement and control methods as necessary to determine the actual flow rates of delivery of outside air to the outside zone of a typical VAV ventilation zone. A detailed literature review and a detailed description of instrumentation of the building and test setup was submitted to the Project Monitoring Committee over the course of this project. Thirty-four tests were done, including three tests for unducted return. The tests covered minimum cooling, typical cooling, maximum cooling, adjusted levels, and unducted return situations.
