硝化作用是一种微生物过程，通过该过程，氨被依次氧化为亚硝酸盐和硝酸盐。在氯胺化系统中，硝化作用具有减少氯胺残留和促进细菌再生的不利影响。本研究的目的是记录氯胺化系统中发生的硝化作用，确定硝化作用的潜在原因和指标，以便更好地理解和控制该问题。报告的结果被收集为AWWA研究基金项目“氯胺酮水系统中硝化作用的发生”的一部分。

Nitrification is a microbiological process by which ammonia is sequentially oxidized to nitrite and nitrate. In chloraminated systems, nitrification has the adverse impacts of reducing chloramine residual and promoting bacterial regrowth. The objective of this study was to document nitrification occurring in chloraminated systems, identify potential causative factors and indicators of nitrification to better understand and control the problem. The results reported here were collected as part of AWWA Research Foundation project "Occurrence of Nitrification in Chloraminated Water Systems."
