本标准适用于个人防护装备（PPE，personal protection equipment）。对于锁紧装置及夹心（seam），规定了测试固体或液体化学物质透过电阻的试验室试验方法，该方法不溶于通常用作捕集介质的水或其他液体，且/或具有较低的蒸气压（25℃至133.322Pa以下）。

이 표준은 개인보호장구(PPE, personal protective equipment)에 사용되는 재료, 잠금장치 및 심(seam)에 대해서 포집 매개체로 보통 사용되는 물이나 기타 액체에 불용성이고/또는 낮은 증기압(25 ℃에서 133.322 Pa 미만)을 갖는 고형이나 액체 화학물질의 투과에 대한 저항을 측정하기 위한 시험실 시험방법에 대하여 규정한다.
