THE STATE-OF-THE-ART SIMD COMPUTER ARCHITECTURES AND A NEW CAD/CAM ENGINEERING DATA CREATION TECHNIQUE (CCD) COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER. THEY PROVIDE A SINGLE, INTEGRATED SOLUTION TO A VARIETY OF ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING PROBLEMS BY ELIMINATING MANY COSTLY STEPS FROM DESIGN TO MANUFACTURING. BY PROVIDING CONCURRENT DRAFTING, SURFACE MODELING AND 3D MODELING WITHIN THE SAME MODULE, CAD BECOMES INTEGRATED. BY USING PARALLEL PROCESSING OF COMPLEX 3D CAD DATA AND AI-BASED PART MANAGEMENT, CCD BECOMES A KINEMATICS, DYNAMICS, SIMULATION AND CNC TOOL. THEREFORE, CAE AND CNC FUNCTIONALITY ARE MERGED INTO CAD/CAM. IN OTHER WORDS, CAD COMES OF AGE AND BECOMES INTELLIGENT: ONE TECHNIQUE THAT DOES IT ALL.
