This method determines the bursting strength of knitted and other non-woven fabrics by the ball burst procedure. Although it may also be used with woven fabrics, it should be noted that for such matarials it is the breaking strength of the less extensible set of yarns that governs the value of bursting strength observed. This method is recommended for very extensible fabrics and for fabrics of bursting strengths exceeding 2 MPa by the diaphragm method (CAN/CGSB-4.2 No.11.1-M).This method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this method has the responsibility to consult the appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
