BS 09/30179100 DC is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more E/E systems and that
are installed in series production passenger cars with a max gross weight up to 3,5 t. ISO 26262 does not address
unique E/E systems in special purpose vehicles such as vehicles designed for drivers with disabilities.
Systems developed prior to the publication date of ISO 26262 are exempted from the scope.BS 09/30179100 DC addresses possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems
including interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards as electric shock, fire, smoke, heat, radiation,
toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards unless directly caused
by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems.BS 09/30179100 DC does not address the nominal performance of E/E systems, even if dedicated functional performance
standards exist for these systems (for example active and passive safety systems, brake systems,
ACC).BS 09/30179100 DC specifies the requirements on product development at the hardware level. These include
requirements on the initiation of product development at the hardware level, the specification of the
hardware safety requirements, hardware design, hardware architectural metrics, and evaluation of violation of
the safety goal due to random hardware failures and hardware integration and testing.Cross References:ISO 26262-1ISO 26262-2ISO 26262-4ISO 26262-6ISO 26262-8ISO 26262-9IEC 61508IEC 50-191ISO/IEC 2382-1ISO/IEC 2382-20ISO 8402ISO 11452-2ISO 11452-4ISO 7637-2ISO 10605ISO/IEC 15026ISO 16750-2ISO 16750-4ISO 16750-5IEC 60300-3-9IEC 60050(191)ISO 17025All current amendments available at time of purchase are included with the purchase of this document.
