From inception to accomplishment, an astonishing quantity of information and knowledge will be utilized by engineers and utility personnel to design a facility for one of the most technically advanced processes in water treatment: membrane filtration. Every aspect of the design, from the piping to the programmable logic process controller will be scrutinized for optimum performance. This paper will add a few features that can be incorporated into the design of a plant to help reach that best effort. Outlined from raw water piping to cleaning systems, suggested improvements for newly constructed plants will also be addressed.
