该标准适用于印刷基板上使用的连接器群。从低电压用高接点密度连接器（B型和C型）到接点更少的大电流（heavy current）和高电压用连接器（D、E、F、G、H型）。该标准不仅适用于同轴、高电压、大电流（请参阅附件B）使用的特殊触点，还适用于为连接与C型相同的78、60、42正常触点而提供的带有孔2、4、6的替代品的M型臂、水连接器。

이 표준은 인쇄 기판에 사용하는 커넥터 군에 적용한다. 저전압용 고접점 밀도 커넥터(B형 과 C형)에서 접점이 더 적은 대형 전류(heavy current)와 고전압용 커넥터(D, E, F, G, H형)까지이다. 이 표준은, 예를 들어 동축, 고전압, 대형 전류(부속서 B 참조)에 사용하는 특수 접점을 부착할 뿐만 아니라 C형과 동일한 78, 60, 42 정상 접점을 부착하기 위한 홀 2, 4, 6을 갖는 대체품에 공급된 M형 암•수 커넥터에도 적용한다.
