This slide presentation provides the distribution water quality results of the City of San Francisco after 3 years of chloramination. The goals of chloramination included: consistent compliance with current and future disinfection byproduct (DBP) regulations as far as
eliminating DBP peaks,
lowering DBP averages, and
better control of DBPs in drought years for imported water; and,
better disinfection residual management by
using 17 chlorine booster stations in San Francisco. Statistics are provided for: disinfectant/levels; disinfection byproducts; corrosion; and, microbial indicators/nitrification. Customer issues with health issues are outlined.
