ASHRAE desired the development of a library of operations and maintenance (O&M) procedures and documentation of the impacts that different O&M practices have on the costs of owning and operating equipment. This information will be a valuable resource for ASHRAE members for assistance in the development of O&M-related educational materials, guidelines, standards, and handbook editions, as well as for ASHRAE members at large. This library was compiled and indexed in RP-1025. Operations and maintenance data were collected for over 53 HVAC&R equipment types. Document and data types included technical books, technical papers, catalogs, cut sheets, and O&M manuals from equipment manufacturers. In total, 355 documents were gathered. The documents were cataloged, indexed, and evaluated in a database. Each document was evaluated for its content, quality of presentation, and whether it addressed variations in climate or application relative to installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quantitative impact data. Users are able to search by equipment type, author, manufacturer, etc., to find O&M procedure information sources. The search provides the physical library document identification number, the document evaluation scores, and other pertinent information. This paper will provide details of the development and use of this library and index, including observations about the quantity and quality of the information and recommendations where improvements are needed.Units: None
