FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS, THE NAVAL AVIATION DEPOT AT NORTH ISLAND HAS BEEN ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE REPAIR OF GRAPHITE/EPOXY STRUCTURES USED ON THE F/A-18 AIRCRAFT. WHILE THE MATERIALS AND PROCESSES USED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF ADVANCED COMPOSITE PARTS ARE WELL UNDERSTOOD, THE PROCESSES AND MATERIALS USED FOR REPAIR OFTEN DIFFER AND ARE NOT AS WELL UNDERSTOOD. THIS PAPER DISCUSSES IN-SERVICE DAMAGE EXPERIENCE AND MATERIALS AND PROCESSES USED FOR BONDED REPAIRS OF F/A-18 HONEYCOMB SANDWICH STRUCTURES.
