View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.Carpenter Project 70 stainless type 321 is a modified version of type 321 stainless steel with improved machinability when compared to conventional type 321. The alloy is a nonhardenable austenitic chromium-nickel steel that is particularly adaptable for parts for use at temperatures between 427 and 816 C (800 and 1500 F). This grade is nonmagnetic in the annealed condition but is slightly magnetic when cold worked. Among its many applications are aircraft engine exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, and fasteners.
