1.1 This specification covers the requirements for magnesium oxide (MgO) and aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) powders and crushable insulators used to manufacture base metal thermocouples, metal-sheathed platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs), noble metal thermocouples, and their respective cables. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
