View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.ALLEGHENY LUDLUM Type 29-4 is a new low-interstitial ferritic stainless steel. It contains approximately 29% chromium and 4% molybdenum. The alloy provides: (1) Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments, (2) Excellent resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, (3) Resistance to intergranular corrosion, (4) Resistance to a wide variety of corrosive environments (particularly organic acids) and (5) Excellent toughness and ductility after welding. Type 29-4 is used widely for chemical processing equipment because of its excellent resistance to corrosion.
