THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE TWO-PART EPOXY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVES IS DESCRIBED. DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYSIS, ELECTRON MICROSCOPY, AND STRESS/STRAIN MEASUREMENTS SHOW THE FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE AND EARLIER GENERATIONS OF EPOXY ADHESIVES. PERFORMANCE PROPERTIES ARE DESCRIBED INCLUDING LAP SHEAR, T-PEEL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE. A NUMBER OF CASE HISTORIES ARE DESCRIBED TO ILLUSTRATE TYPICAL APPLICATIONS FOR THESE HIGH- PERFORMANCE EPOXY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVES.
