View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.ALUMINUM 850.0 is an aluminum-tin-nickel-copper alloy for bearings. It is used principally in the form of permanent-mold castings which, because of their rapid solidification, are characterized by a fine, dense, fatigue-resistant structure. Solid bearings machined from permanent-mold castings of this alloy are used principally in the artificially aged T5 temper for heavy-duty engine bearings. In this field Aluminum 850.0 alloy has provided satisfactory performance under conditions of very high unit loading at medium speeds and temperatures.
