This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting the project objective that includes the following: to develop an Integrated Water Resources
Plan (IWRP) that identifies a mix of water
resources that could reliably meet water supply
needs of selected growth scenarios. The scope of the IWRP is presented and includes the following topics: profile of
Western Placer County in California;
regional analysis;
existing conditions, general plans, specific
plans, and other proposals;
Sacramento Area Council of Governments
(SACOG);
surface water, groundwater, recycled water; and,
short-term and long-term droughts. Presentation conclusions indicate the following: supply available to meet water demands;
integrated mix of water supplies needed;
surface water is not enough;
dry year supplies must include groundwater
to meet demands;
up to 15,000 ac-ft/yr of reclaimed water
supply;
up to 15,000 ac-ft/yr of groundwater supply
to meet dry year supply requirements; raw water demand restrictions needed for
multiple year droughts;
single year severe droughts,
treated water demand reductions;
physical system limitations,
raw water customer implications. Includes tables, figures.
