Application of Ceramic Membrane Microfiltration for Drinking Water Production in Japan and Pretreatment by Super-Powdered Activated Carbon Adsorption for Ceramic Membrane Filtration
陶瓷膜微滤在日本饮用水生产中的应用及超粉末活性炭吸附陶瓷膜过滤预处理
This powerpoint presentation presents the application of membrane filtration in Japan, including:
statistical data (drinking water treatment);
monolith ceramic membranes; and,
submerged ceramic membranes.
Research involved: total organic carbon
(TOC) removal by microfiltration (MF) with super-powdered activated carbon (S-PAC) adsorption;
geosmin removal by MF with S-PAC adsorption; and,
attenuating trans-membrane pressure (TMP) increase by S-PAC addition. Presentation conclusions on the benefits of S-PAC in MF indicate the following:
Geosmin removal: 75% dosage cut;
TOC removal: 75% dosage cut;
slightly better SS particles (turbidity) removal;
reduction of TMP rise by larger-size floc formation; and,
reduction of TMP rise by natural organic matter (NOM) removal.
