This slide presentation outlines a project on implementing submerged membrane technology to meet filtration challenges. Following 2 years of MPA tests, the Stillaguamish Ranney Collector source received MPA score > 20. Per the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), source is now HIGH RISK of being under direct surface influence (groundwater under the influence of surface water). It needed to be brought into compliance with the Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR). Topics outlined include: SWTR compliance challenge; Stillaguamish compliance approach, first major element: rehabilitation of Ranney Collector; second major element: install filtration; membrane pilot study; equipment procurement; project site; permitting challenges; building design challenges; other facilities design challenges; clearwell overflow air gap design; distribution system challenges; landscaping and storm water challenges; design highlights; and, construction challenges.
