The objective of this research project is to obtain a body of measured inlet system effects for both air and sound for a single width single inlet backward inclined (BI) / Airfoil centrifugal fan of 30 in diameter. The inlet appurtenances tested in this project are five different bearings of flange and pillowblock types with their supports and fourteen simulated cabinets at various widths and heights. The fan was tested at three different speeds for all controlled inlet conditions. The measurements were made at the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International laboratory in Chicago.
