In the spring of 1996, CT Section Conservation Committee developed an educational
plan for an outreach project. This plan serves four purposes: it develops an awareness
of regulatory procedures and regulations to high school students; it develops
a working relationship between regulatory agencies, environmentalist groups, state
and local governments, water utilities and consumer groups; it utilizes
long distance learning network technology to involve more than one school and to
better facilitate interagency cooperation; and, it exposes students to career opportunities that exist not only in the industry but in the government sector
as well.
