This paper describes a Brazilian experience in manufacturing education of engineers based upon the use of computer integration tools available at the Center of Competence in Manufacturing (CCM). CCM was built as part of IBM's CIM in Higher Education program and its main purpose is to disseminate the Computer Integrated Product Development (CIPD) concept to students and professionals in the field of manufacturing. In order to show the impact of the CCM on manufacturing education improvement, this paper discusses the Computer Integrated Product Development concept applied to aircraft design.
