1.1 This specification covers the requirements for fiber-optic position switches (proximity and limit). This specification does not include switches that transfer an optical signal from one path to another by an external force or energy applied to the switch. 1.2 Special requirements for naval shipboard applications are included in the Supplement. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
