This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of hydraulic models, defined as computerized pipe network analysis that
use energy loss equations. Hydraulic models are used to determine the flow rates,
pressures, and water quality in the
individual sections of a piping
network. Field testing is presented, and includes the
measurement of flow, pressure, or water
quality indicators under certain conditions. Topics presented include: hydraulic grade line (HGL) tests; hydrant (fire) flow tests; closed valves; and, examples from North Carolina municipalities. Includes figures.
