View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 443 is a heat-resisting chromium steel which stands up very well under destructive scaling conditions up to 1600 F (871 C). It is not subject to intergranular corrosion as a result of hot working, welding or continuous operation at elevated temperatures. Type 443 is comparable to the 18-8 chromium-nickel stainless steels in resistance to both corrosion and scaling but is not as though as they are nor as hard at elevated temperatures.
