This presentation deals with aspects of quality control during the analysisof haloacetic acids (HAA9) in drinking water. The presentation focuses on two methods, diazomethane (Standard Method 6251B, EPA Method 552), and acidic methanol (EPA Method 522.2) and addresses the derivatization efficiency and optimization of the methods. The impact of biodegradation and chlorine quenching onHAA stability are also covered.
