The present paper is devoted to discuss and analyze the simulation of the air flow and thermal patterns in an air-conditioned open football stadium. Numerical simulation of a typical model is presented. The current paper investigates the modifications that could be carried out to the air-conditioning system and to the stadium design for obtaining the optimum cooling effect inside the stadium. The work focuses on air flow patterns, thermal behaviour and thermal comfort parameters in both playground field and the spectators' area.
