In the appliance safety series, this Standard is to be read as a supplement to the General requirements (AS 3300/NZS 6300, ¿¿IEC 335-1 second edition, see Basic information above). It modifies the corresponding clauses to apply to heaters designed to heat water while it flows over the heating element, to a temperature below its boiling point. Particular features specified include leakage current, pressure relief, operation when frozen, and outlet temperature limits. Does not apply to electrode type water heaters.
