Bench-scale data and calculations can be used to formulate an experimental protocol for the design and possibly the optimization of an ozonation system along with predictions concerning the effects of ozone on an individual water supply. The initial parameter study covered trihalomethane formation potential, total organic carbon, UV absorbance, and standard plate counts.
