BS 09/30179094 DC is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more E/E systems and that
are installed in series production passenger cars with a max gross weight up to 3.5 t. ISO 26262 does not
address unique E/E systems in special purpose vehicles such as vehicles designed for drivers with
disabilities. Systems developed prior to the publication date of ISO 26262 are exempted from the scope.BS 09/30179094 DC addresses possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems
including interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards as electric shock, fire, smoke, heat,
radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards unless directly
caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems.BS 09/30179094 DC does not address the nominal performance of E/E systems, even if dedicated functional
performance standards exist for these systems (for example active and passive safety systems, brake
systems, ACC).BS 09/30179094 DC specifies the requirements on the concept phase for automotive
applications. These requirements include the item definition, the initiation of the safety lifecycle, the hazard
analysis and risk assessment and the functional safety concept.Cross References:ISO 26262-1ISO 26262-2ISO 26262-8ISO 26262-970/156/EECIEC 61508ISO/IEC Guide 51ISO/IEC 2382IEC 60050(191)ISO/IEC 15026:1998All current amendments available at time of purchase are included with the purchase of this document.
