Today, there is a broad range of waterborne coatings available to choose from
when selecting coatings for areas where corrosion control and durability are key--
including water and wastewater treatment applications. With the exception of
immersion and secondary containment, where waterborne coatings are not
recommended, these coatings, once considered less effective than solvent-borne
systems, are becoming the preferred formulation. This paper briefly discusses
U.S. guidelines on industrial coatings, the benefits of waterborne coatings and
describes the three primary types of waterborne coatings.
