This slide presentation outlines the impact of seawater intake and pretreatment options on reverse osmosis (RO) membrane desalination plant feasibility and costs. Project objectives included: Develop Seawater Desal Alternatives; Assess Alternatives in terms of technical feasibility and constructability, environmental and social impacts, permitability, cost comparisons, no time for pilot testing or extensive water quality testing; and, select a preferred alternative, assess potential environmental impacts, estimate capital and O&M costs, and estimate implementation schedule; and, drought contingency decisions, implement a DBO Desal Project or not?
