TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS WITH LARGE VITRIFIED CBN WHEELS IN PRODUCTION GRINDING APPLICATIONS, OEMS AND TOOLING SUPPLIERS ARE TOGETHER ADOPTING RADICALLY NEW APPROACHES TO MACHINE TOOL DESIGN. MAJOR CHANGES ARE BEING MADE TO THE WHEEL, DRESSER, AND COOLANT SYSTEMS, AND THE TERM PRECISION GRINDING SYSTEMS IS BEING USED TO DESCRIBE MACHINE TOOLS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR OPTIMIZATION OF VITRIFIED CBN WHEEL LIFE AND PRODUCTIVITY.
