This paper describes the results of the demonstration project during the period March through May 1980. The purpose of the demonstration project was to test the performance of the off-peak storage heating and cooling system. The demonstration test was conducted in a residence in a testing mode, reflecting operation under a particular household living condition. As such, the demands on the system were relatively uncontrolled, responding to varying weather conditions and household living patterns. Such a test reflects some of the diversity in demand heating systems experience. However, such a test lacks the control available in a laboratory experiment.
