Prompted by an increase in the number of hazardous materials spills reported in the area, the East Bay Municipal Utility District developed a Hazardous Material Spill Response Plan. The plan's five components are discovery and notification, evaluation and initiation of action, containment and countermeasures, cleanup mitigation and disposal, and documentation and cost recovery. Plan details, CHEMTREC, and practice tests are discussed. Includes 5 references, figures.
