This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of secondary or dual water systems and metering of secondary water systems. Several approaches to metering are presented, including: centralized filtration; individual connection filters; and, innovative meter design. Important considerations are presented for economic feasibility and social and political implications. Presentation conclusions indicate that: current operations of most secondary water
systems are not conservation-friendly;
most meter types are unable to function in
secondary systems;
by using innovative meter design or
filtration, metering is a possibility; and,
an economic analysis should be made before
installing meters on a secondary system. Includes 5 references, table, figure.
